The Securities Trading Act (WpHG) regulates securities trading in Germany. It's mainly there to monitor service companies that trade securities and financial futures transactions. That protects you as a customer. The WpHG requires securities service companies to give you proper advice as an investor. The advisor has to find out what kind of experience you have with investments, what goals you're aiming for, what your financial situation is like, and how comfortable you are with risk. Only then can they recommend investment types that really suit you.
