The renewed identity verification is part of the transition to our new infrastructure with a new custodian partner.
The whole process has to be done and completed through the Ginmon app for iOS and Android. For identification, you have the following options:
Post office (PostIdent): Personal identification at a Deutsche Post branch.
Video chat: Online video call, about five minutes. Daily from 08:00 to 22:00 CET available.
All options meet high security and regulatory requirements. This is a one-time step as part of the infrastructure modernization; there are no extra costs or financial disadvantages for you.
